WPPI 2011: Part 1

With over 16,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors and 75 speakers, WPPI is intense and amazing photography conference. Not only is the conference packed with inspirational and informative presentations by industry leaders, it is also a great place to network and connect with photographers from all over the world.  In between the speakers, we try to squeeze in some time playing with other photographers.  This year, we were lucky to attend a photoshop mini-workshop led by Kamee June. I admire her photography - it was a treat to watch her in action!

Darling Whitney was our model for the afternoon as we walked about the MGM.

It's not surprising to learn that Kamee was a teacher before becoming a professional photographer.  She offers a myriad of mentoring options and I am so grateful that she is so willing to share her expertise.  If you can't attend one of her workshops, check out her new flashcards - the pretty little cards are full of both technical suggestions and inspiration.

Thank you Kamee for an afternoon of learning, laughs & new friendships!

Six Months

It's hard to believe this little pumpkin is already six months old!

I can't wait to be back in Utah in March for her one year old session.

Sibling Love

DSC_4345bw

I loved working with the Eggert family. Not only were they fun & energetic, it was like looking into a crystal ball. Are you curious about the recipe for an insta-family?

DSC_4375

Start with one sweet, patient, beautiful and loving big sister.

Add two best friends who share the same birthday. Mix well.

For added flavor, each child should have different dreams and hobbies. "I like to push people's buttons." Oh, I wonder if my button pusher will ever be this self-aware!

Three unique and special personalities blended together to create a happy, loving family.

I know Mom & Dad are very proud of these three amazing kids.  I hope my little ones grow together and have as much fun as you three! Thank you Eggert family!

Kadee, thanks for braving the Indiana heat with me - I know whatever path you choose, you will find success!

Cousins

DSC_2648a

Meet the mastermind. With gorgeous green eyes and a beautiful smile, Amelia had it in her mind that all the cousins should be photographed together.

DSC_2670a

She's a determined young lady. Her younger brother is allegedly taller, but Amelia held on tight to the center spot in all the photos.

Meet the bambino. Toddling away. Showered with affection. One lucky little dude.

DSC_2625a
Meet the princesses. Two peas in a pod. Adoring all that is Amelia. Quietly scheming in the background.

DSC_2520c
Meet the bonsai master (yes, really). Inquisitive and active.

DSC_2739a
Meet the tween. Too cool for smiles, but genuinely polite & funny.
DSC_2702a
Meet the heartbreaker. It took all my restraint not to pinch & kiss those cheeks. So sweet.

This beautiful family was so much fun to be around.

Thank you Somers clan for a great start to the day!

Caroline & Brandon

DSC_1640a
It isn't always easy to capture Brandon smiling. Not that he is stingy with smiles, his smiles are simply organic & natural responses not an unnatural reaction to a camera.
DSC_1633a
Good thing he had many reasons to smile this evening. Caroline just learned she received a promotion at work.
DSC_1687a
Work projects fell into place & they were able to join their family at the beach for a mini-vacation. A celebration was in order!
DSC_1671b
Life is good for these newlyweds. They make such a great team & I just can't help but smile when I think of them together.

Alex & Dee

How old will you be when you've been with your soul mate longer than you haven't?

DSC_1631b
28?
DSC_1605a
Didn't think so.
DSC_1587b
These almost newlyweds have such a comfortable presence together.
DSC_1628c
Despite being so young, Alex & Dee managed to grow up together - rather than growing apart.
DSC_1625a
They were so much fun to photograph - I love how Dee's smile will light up any room.
DSC_1596a
And I love how the sun cooperated and ended the session with such a romantic sentiment.
